CBWM (Community Based Water Monitoring)

This program provides a final check on the overall safety of drinking water, at the tap, distribution system, and cisterns (water holding tanks). The CBWM is responsible for sampling the treated drinking water within the community and testing the samples for bacteriological quality.

 

Services the program delivers:

  • Sample test and interpret drinking water quality
  • Reduce potential public health risk
  • Promote importance of safe drinking water

 

Sample and testing are performed to reduce the possibility of waterborne disease outbreaks by increasing/improving the monitoring of and reporting on drinking water. Samples and testing drinking water as per the Guidelines in distribution systems cisterns as developed under the direction of Environmental Health Officer.
